Morley double sinks Shirebrook Town
Shirebrook Town slipped to a 2-0 defeat at play-off chasing Coalville Town.
Shirebrook made the better start with Keiron Grant stinging the palms of Jake Williams in the Coalville goal and Kian Tansley also saw a shot from the edge of the box go just wide of the post.
Coalville soon began to turn the screw and put Shirebrook on the back foot as Kane Bartholomew fired a shot just wide then Ronnie Morely would twice go close within a matter of minutes of each other his first effort saw a shot saved by Harrison Kissane and his second shot would go just wide of the near post.
The deadlock was broken in the 32nd minute when Ronnie Morley was played through and made no mistake as he fired the home side into the lead however Shirebrook responded well to going behind with Kian Tansley and Joe Godfrey both having chances to pull Shirebrook level.

As the second half got underway it was the worst possible start to the half for Shirebrook as Coalville doubled their lead in the 51st minute when Ronnie Morley was played in down the left he cut inside and fired across Kissane into the bottom corner to get his second of the afternoon.
Just like the first half Shirebrook responded well to conceding with Jake Williams producing a brilliant save to tip over Josh Tate’s looping long range effort while Keiron Grant and Trent Jules both went close to pulling a goal back.
As the game went into the final ten minutes Ronnie Morley went close to completing his hattrick but he saw his free kick saved by Kissane.
In injury-time, Shirebrook were still pushing to try and get a goal back and they almost got it when a penalty box scramble saw Kian Tansley and Joe Godfrey both have shots blocked before Coalville managed to scramble the ball away to safety but it wasn’t to be for Shirebrook as Coalville managed to see out the rest of the game and claim all 3 points.
