A YOUNG Mansfield gymnast is hoping to win qualification to represent Britain when she takes part in two national qualifiers later this year.

Promising Paige Vick (8) has recently been crowned the East Midlands Regional Level Four champion and will now pit her skills against the nation’s best in April and October.

Paige, who attends Samuel Barlow Primary School in Clipstone, will take part in the Nationals in April and October and must achieve a combined top ten ranking to make the GB team.

Delighted mum Helen said: “We are really delighted with Paige’s success.

“She has been working towards winning the gold at the East Midlands, but to actually win it is a fantastic achievement.

“It is a really great effort by her and is a great reward for all the hardwork she has put in during training.

“There was some very good competition against her, but Paige has made very good progress over the last year and she stood out for the judges.

“She will have to continue to work hard and be committed to make the GB team, but she loves the sport and is going from strength to strength at the moment.”

Paige currently trains with the elite Nottingham Gymnastics Academy.
