Sutton Sting snatch dramatic draw at Sheffield Spartans

Sutton Sting dramatically secured a point against Sheffield Spartans away at Ice Sheffield.

It took 16 minutes of the game for Sutton’s Slav Movko to put a goal past Sheffield’s Brad Stones with a go ahead goal from Reece Cairney-Witter.

With a dominating period from the Sting, they took a 1-0 lead into the second period.

Just one minute into the second Sheffield’s determination showed when Scott Marris scored an equaliser against Sutton’s Dimitri Zimozdra.

This was shortly followed by another goal for Sheffield with a Powerplay goal from Andrew Turner.

Sutton kept their heads up but their hardwork and determination didn’t get its rewards as Sheffield’s captain Oliver Barron found the back of the net.

Sutton knew they had to get a goal back this period to stay in it and Mark Turner scored the second goal for Sutton to make it 3-2 into the last period.

Sutton’s passion showed when Richard Oliver got a goal past Brad Stones to equalise with Sheffield just four minutes into the final period.

With a close period and just 48 seconds to go Sheffield’s Captain Oliver Barron scored another goal to put them in the lead.

With a timeout called from coach Matt Darlow and just 48 seconds to go ,Sheffield thought they had the game won.

However Richard Oliver levelled for the visitor’s with just 12 seconds left.
