Sutton Harriers keep up fine form with race win

Sutton Harriers Ladies finished first during the latest round of the Booths Winter League Cross Country to keep up their fine form.

The men finished fifth and seventh overall and second combined in a good meeting for the Harriers.

Times and places in their age groups as follows, Dean Cross second 27min 01sec, Tony Goodyear fifth 27m 50s, Samuel Moakes (only 16 years old) third 28m 55s, Paul Dobbs second 29m 07m, Chris Holmes 23rd 29m19s, first lady home and first Sutton lady was Michelle Willcocks in a time of 29min 31secs, Robert Roper 9th 29m 57s, Jordon Mitchell 31st 31m16s, Laetitia Moakes fifth 31m 49s, Keith Brown ninth 33m 01s, Conrad Watson 14th 33m 20s, Sarah Hutchinson 10th 33m30s Callum Ball 7th 34m 09s, James Yorke 21st 34m 13s, Kate Simpson 11th 34m17s, David Ward 11th 34m46s, Amanda Alletson fifth 35m 09s, Caprice Miloro 19th 36m 35s, Sue Bradley 6th 37m 17s, Kerry Shooter fourth 38m 19s, Tony Staniland second in the over 70’s, in a time of 41m 38s, and finally running in her first year was Bethony Mitchell 39th 48m 58s.

Five Sutton Harriers members competed in the Crazy Legs Duathlon at Ashbourn, with James Simpson, in 1hr 27min 19secs, followed by Sutton’s first lady Amanda Alletson, in 1hr 27min 19secs, the first home.

The race was a 5k run around the outside of the track, followed by a 12k bike ride eight times around the track and finally a 5k run around the track again to finish.

Kate Simpson finished in 1hr 31min 10secs, David James was next in his age group in a time of 1hr 32min 38secs.

Kerry Shooter finished first in her age group in a time of 1hr 37min 36secs.
