Sutton Harier Libby Coleman made her International debut on Saturday during the Schools International in Dublin.
The event featured teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and consisted of four races - Junior Girls 3K, Junior Boys 4K, Inter Girls 4K and Inter Boys 6K
At 13 years of age and being one of the youngster in the field, Libby competed in the Junior Girls over 3K.
The course consisted of 2 x 1.5k laps and was completely different from the courses in England over the last few winter months, being a flattish fast dry parkland course more suited to the track runners.
However Libby adapted very well to the change in conditions and finish in a excellent ninth position with a time of 10mins 24secs.
It is hoped that Libby will now grow from the experience and represent her country on many more occassions.
England’s Kathleen Faes finished in first place with a time of 9mins 40 secs enabling England to win the team competition ahead of Scotland.
