Rotherham Titans have signed former Notthingham Tom Calladine.
Calladine progressed through Nottingham’s academy system and made 82 appearances for the Green & Whites, in total, scoring 11 tries.
Mansfield born, Calladine has previously represented his home town club as well as Hartpury RFC.
Titans’ Lee Blackett said of the new signing: “Tom’s someone who I’ve been a keen admirer of for the last three years. I remember previewing Nottingham under Alex Codling and this guy just stood out.
“There’s a couple of people in the Championship, where I’ve always said if their names ever came up we’d move in for them quickly and try to sign them and Tom was one of those players.
“I believe Tom will end up in the Premiership! He’s already at this moment in time a top-end Championship player, so we are genuinely exited to have Tom here next season. He’s aggressive and feisty and he’s everything we are looking for in a player and I’ve no doubt he will go a long way in the game.”
Commenting on his move to South Yorkshire Tom said, “Having played against Rotherham now for the past few years in what have always been high tempo games, I have come to realise that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Championship, especially at Clifton Lane.
“You never get an easy game against Rotherham and that’s something that has drawn me to the club. A no nonsense approach pack with direct and fast backs is what you can always expect from Roth and hopefully I can add to that.
“The environment that Lee has set in the club also had a big sway in things. I look forward to pulling on the Rotherham shirt and can hopefully add to what is already a strong outfit.”
