Ravenshead Rascals maintain 100 per cent record in Mansfield Table Tennis League

Ravenshead Rascals showed their dominance as they maintained their 100 per cent record in the Mansfield Table Tennis League after beating Jacksdale B 10-0. Martin Dean once again starred for the Rascals, winning all his games 3-0 and also partnering Adam Feargrieveto a 3-0 doubles win.

Ravenshead Riots beat Jacksdale A 7-3 in a surprise result seeing Jacksdale A losing their first match of the season in Division One.

The New Cross Snipers took advantage of the top team not playing this week in Division Two, and the other two main contenders battling out a draw, to move joint top with a 7-3 victory over Ravenshead Angels.

The Snipers, consisting of Tony Swain (man-of-the-match ), Ben Swain and Erlands Skels, all won two of their three matches, with Adrian Smith also winning two of his three matches for the Angels.

Two of the three points from the Angels came in very close five end matches with Maggie Burrows beating Tony Swain 13-11 in the fifth, and Adrian Smith beating Erlands Skels 14-12 in the fifth.

In the battle of the two main contenders for the Division Two title ended in a draw.

Another maximum from man-of-the-match Steve Scott helped Rhinos to draw their match against Boothy’s 5-5. Graham Smith and Stuart Chadwick both won two of their games with Stuart then teaming up with Rod Sampson to win the doubles for the home team and square a very exciting match.

Jim Westwood, for the Ravenshead Rebels, won his first man-of-the-match of the season, winning all his three matches against Boothys Ravens in a 5-5 draw on the night.

Some quite close matches on the night with Chris Tilstone coming back from 2-0 to beat Laurence Taylor 3-2 and Jim Westwood winning a five-end match overcoming Andy Bunting 11-8 in the fifth.

Hucknall 50+ beat Jacksdale D 9-1 with Russel Saunders claiming his 1st player of the match of the season.
