Paralympian Sam Hynd through to London 100m breastroke final

KIRKBY Paralympic star Sam Hynd swam his way into his second final of the London Games on Saturday.

Sam, third in his heat of the SB8 100 metres breastroke, qualified seventh fastest for Saturday evening’s final.

Ashfield’s sporting star swam 1:16.80 in the final heat, behind Krzystof Paterka and fastest qualifier Andriy Kalyna of Ukraine, the reigning champion and current world record holder.

Yesterday Sam took bronze in the S8 400m freestyle, behind brother Ollie who claimed silver.
