COXMOOR Golf Club star Greg Owen faded after a flying start in the Barclay’s in New York this week.

The opening tournament of the Play-Off Series saw Owen start the event in style with a three under par 68.

But he failed to reproduce his scoring in the following rounds and had to be content with a mid-field finish, leaving him just short of the million dollars in winnings for the year.

Owen tees up this week in the 99-man field for the second in the series, the Deutsche Bank Championship, starting tomorrow (Thursday).

Club mate Oliver Wilson’s season again failed to pick up after he missed the cut in the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles last week, carding rounds of 83 and 76 to miss the cut on 15 over par.

Allen Hunt won the First Division of Coxmoor’s Wednesday Medal after a countback from D. W. Martin, both with nett 71, with the day’s best scratch score of 70 coming from Ross Overton.

Paul Clark won Division Two with a nett 73, three ahead of runner-up M. Slack.

In the Juniors Sinfield Trophy Joseph Brown lifted the trophy with a nett 66 one clear of Sam Greasley.

Rebecca Williams won the Junior Medal First Division with a nett 64 four clear of Sam Greasley with Joseph Brown in third with nett 69 with Division Two going to Josh Owens with a nett 76.
