New Paralympic record as Charlotte Henshaw storms into final

MANSFIELD swimmer Charlotte Henshaw sent out a statement of intent to her rivals this morning when she smashed the newly-set Paralympics record as she easily won her heat in the SB6 100m breaststroke.

Rival Liz Johnson won the first heat and also set a new Games record time of 1.41.09.

But Charlotte then stormed to victory in heat two, leaving her rivals behind to win by four seconds and also break Johnson’s new record as she won in 1.39.64.

The pair will now prepare for the final showdown tonight at 7.31pm.
