Young players from Mansfield RFC honed their skills with the professionals as they visited ten-time English champions Leicester Tigers for a Matchday Coaching Clinic ahead of their win over Stade Francais at Welford Road.
The team worked with Tigers coaches in a specialised training session to develop their individual and team skills, as well as taking tips and techniques with them to work on.
The players also got to quiz a Leicester first-team player about playing professional rugby for the biggest club in the country and their hopes for the season.
They then soaked up the match-day atmosphere at Welford Road and watched the professionals put those techniques into practice as Leicester scored six tries to beat Stade Francais 41-13 in the European Champions Cup quarter-final.
They even managed to follow in the players’ footsteps by having a team photo taken on the famous turf at half-time in front of a 21,000-strong home crowd.
