Mansfield Giants ready for fixture backlog

AFTER another weekend witout a game, due to Killamarsh Arrows reaching the Patrons Cup final, the Mansfield Giants basketball club are preparing for a hectic fixture schedule.

The club face a total of nine games to play in March and face bottom side Birmingham A’s on Saturday, before making the long trip to face the Glamorgan Gladiators in Wales on Sunday.

Head coach Dan Richards said: “This will be an extremely tough month for us. With so many games recently being postponed we have had to cram them all in before the play-offs start.

“There are four other teams in the league on the same amount of losses as ourselves, and one other team that’s lost one less, so the ball is in our court in terms of how far up the table we can climb.

“Our focus is definitely on the Birmingham game this Saturday. We have got to take care of the teams underneath us and hopefully we can gain some momentum for the following day.”
