The pegs in the 20s are the pegs to be on at the moment as the winner of Sherwood Forest Fishery’s Tuesday Open found out.

Lee Holtham, drawing peg 27, fished the pole and pellet at the side of the weed beds for skimmers and roach + 6 carp – 6lb.

Second place went to Andy Lakey fishing the pole and maggot out at 13m landing 15lb of silvers.

There was strong wind at the start of the Wednesday Open match at Holmedale Lake, which made pole presentation very difficult.

Bu when the wind dropped half way through the match it was game on. Mick Smith eventually fished the pole and pellet out at 13m landing 20 carp – 7lb putting 74lb 5oz on the scales.

Second place again went top Andy Lakey, who was also making the move out with the pole to 13m and with pellet hookbait he landed 25 carp – 5lb and 8lb of roach for a level 73lb. One fish short Brian Elliott also had a late run on the pole and pellet for 72lb 12oz.
