The wind spoilt the day during Sherwood Forest Fishery’s Tuesday open making presentation very hard.
Winner Dave Hiley fished the pole and maggot out at 11m from sheltered peg 27, landing 24lb 15oz of roach skimmers and perch – 1lb.
Lee Holtham, in 2nd spot, had a bonus 7lb carp in the dying minutes to catapult him into second spot ahead of John Urruty fishing the waggler and maggot for 13lb 4oz of silvers.
Lee Hassett fished the best weight of the year with pellet and corn on two lines at 13m from peg 32.
He got his first fish after 15 minutes and never looked back landing 40 carp with the best going 7lb and putting 103lb 10oz on the scales.
Best of the rest was Nigel Shipman landing 18 carp – 5lb on the pole and bread punch for 46lb 5oz.
