Match-winner John Urruty alternated between the wagler and maggot for Roach and skimmers and the pole and corn fished tight to the island for 6 carp – 5lb - as he won Sherwood Forest Fishery’s Tuesday Open.
In second place Andy Lakey fished the pole and maggot out on two lines for a mixed net of skimmers, Ide and roach.
A major white over frost put paid to any early sport during the Wednesday Open.
Chris Russell drew peg 4 in the sun and fished the pole at 14m and 6mm soft pellet on the hook, feeding micro pellet through the toss pot he landed 25 carp – 8lb weighing in 91lb 15oz. In second spot Mick fished the pole and 4mm pellet on two lines for 20 carp – 8lb + skimmers and roach, putting 61lb 12oz on the scales.
