After finishing first in the ladies section of the Booths Winter Cross Country League, Sutton Harriers started their Booths Summer League Road Race series in style at Teversal Grange at the weekend.
With 12 clubs from Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and a field of 308 runners, Sutton Harriers Ladies are in first position after the first of five races and second overall with the men.

Running his first race was Alex Brewer with Phil Bird running alongside and he finished in 57m 53s.
The next race is at the Ilkeston Rugby Club.
On a bright and sunny Sunday seven members of Sutton Harriers took part in the Manchester Marathon.
Married couple James and Kate Simpson ran their personal best times of 3hrs 26mins and 3hrs 39mins respectively.
Amanda Alletson, with another personal best time, finished in 3hrs 50mins, and running her first marathon after only starting at Sutton Harriers last year Kerry Shooter finished in 3hrs 54mins.
David James, the vicar of St Mary’s in Sutton in Ashfield, also earned a personal best as he finished in 4hrs 27mins.
After running the Dallas Half Marathon the previous week, David Thomson finished in 4hrs 30mins.
Also competing was Gary Bird who is running 12 marathons in 12 months.
Last week he competed his fourth at the Caythorpe off road marathon at Grantham.
After missing the start due to a diversion following an accident , Gary still ran the course but did not receive a time.
The Manchester Marathon was the first road race this year he has competed in. Finishing in 3hrs 43mins, this was his best time to date.
His next race is in May at the White Peaks, Matlock.
