Greg Owen’s hopes are ended

Greg Owen’s run in the Play-off series ended at The Barclays last week when he failed to make the cut.

After opening with a two under par 69, he followed up with a seven over par second round of 78 to miss the cut by two.

The Coxmoor Golf Club star now faces a rest until the season-ending Fall Series tees up next month.

With time running out to secure his tour card for 2012, fellow Coxmoor player Oliver Wilson tees up in the KLM Open at the Hilversumsche Golf Club starting on Thursday.

Megan McJannett returned a nett 59, off 22, to win Sunday’s Junior Championship at Coxmoor with Josh Owens in second with a nett 63, followed in third place by Pearce Whetton on nett 65.

Tom Cumberland won the top division of the Black Tee Medal, returning the day’s best gross score of 68 to win by one from Andy Chambers.

Shaun Walker won the Second Division with a nett 80, one ahead of Tony Porter.

In the White Tee event, Joseph Brown returned a nett 68 off 10 to win after a countback from Kevin Flint.

In Division Two David Woodward took the top spot with a nett 69, off 16, two clear of competition runner-up Jim Malcolm.

At the Mansfield Golf Club the Bogey Competition was won by Jeff Baron on +2, followed by club captain Kev Bell at +1 with Ian Little taking third at level par.
