Four players from the Mansfield club have been selected for the Notts, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire (NLD) U15 girls’ representative squad after successful trials at Newark.

The club sent all their U15 girls to take part in the trials and gain valuable experience and confidence in what is their first season at this level of rugby. And Georgian Tasker, Heidi Seaton, Lois Markland and Emily Bingley were all picked.

Other players were very unlucky not to win a call-up, but they have been selected for the newly-formed NDL U15 development squad, in which they will contiunue their training and be given a second bite at the cherry in early 2016.

Pete Haskell, head coach of Mansfield’s girls’ section, said: “To get four players into the main squad and others into the development squad at this stage of the season and so early in their development is absolutely fantastic.

“Big thanks should be passed on to all the coaches within the section for their hard work. Any girls interested in joining the club should visit our website.”

Georgian, Heidi, Lois and Emily made their debuts for the NLD team in a victory at Lutterworth yesterday (Sunday). “It was a great day for the club,” added Haskell.
