FOREST Town ski prospect Ethan Davis (11) is celebrating victory in the British Indoor Slopestyle Championships at the Sno!zone in Castleford.

Ethan, who is in year 7 at Samworth Church Academy, spent four weeks training in Saas Fee, Switzerland, with the Warren Smith Ski Academy and British Freeski Camps over the summer and has been boosted by sponsorship from Sno!zone and Bawbags along with help from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Rising Star fund to help towards equipment, training, coaching.

Ethan will be continuing to train at SNO!zone Castleford and with Salomon Grom Camps and Warren Smith Ski Academy.

He will also be training in Europe throughout the winter in preparation for future British Championships and competitions.

No dates are yet confirmed, but Ethan will be looking to compete this year in the British Snow Tour – which features the UK’s best skiers and snowboarders battling for the highest honours in the British calendar - and The British Artificial Moguls Championship at venues across the UK and Europe.

Also this year, Ethan, a member of the Yorkshire Freestyle Ski Team A Squad, turned in two fine performances at the British Snow Tour in Laax, Switzerland, where he was second in the Halfpipe Championship and fourth in the Slopestyle Championship.

Ethan had his first skiing lesson on his seventh birthday as a surprise and loved it straight away.

Ethan started to train in freestyle skiing and aged nineyears old entered his first moguls competition and loved the feeling of competing.
