Clowne Road Runners' Gareth Lowe wins Mansfield 10k as Luke Duffy wins 5K race

Clowne Road Runners' Gareth Lowe put in a superb run to take the Mansfield 10k title at the weekend.

He clocked a time of bang on 34 minutes to beat Kirkby Woodhouse’s Stuart King into second spot (35 mins 7).

Richard Robinson, of Sutton Harriers, in (35 mins 8) came third, with Matlock runner Mike Blair and Paul Wright completing the top five.

It was day of what could have been for King, who claimed third spot in the 5k race (16 min 25), behind highly-talented Mansfield Harrier Luke Duffy (16 min 07) and Sutton Harriers’ Samuel Moakes (16 min 12).

Take a look at our Mansfield 10k galleryNatalie Yates was the highest placed female in the 10k race in a time of 38 minutes 34 seconds, which was also good enough for 15th place overall out of 608 runners.

She came ahead of Sheffield’s Ellen McLeod, who claimed 36th overall spot with a time of 41 mins 52 seconds, and Mansfield Harriers runner Mollie Scott (42 mins 16).

Amber Scott, of Mansfield Harriers took the win in the female 5k in a time of 18 min 55 seconds.

She beat Sutton’s Freja Strom (20 mins 51 seconds) and Mansfield’s Kahli Johnson (20 mins 54 seconds).
