Ollerton’s motorcycle race ace and fan favourite Chris Walker celebrated his 300th British Superbikes race at Oulton Park this weekend.
Walker went hoping to better his last few outings on the Be Wiser sponsored Kawasaki ZX-10R super machine.
Walker’s season so far has been a mixture of ups and downs, with his last outing at Cadwell Park two weeks ago saw him gain points getting two 15th place finishes
Round nine at Oulton Park was a three round race weekend and saw Walker’s Team mate Danny Bucan take two podiums.
Walker encountered problems in the first qualifying session leaving him in 21st position on the grid for the first race of the weekend and his 300th race in the Championship since starting British Superbikes.
Race One wasn’t easy for Chris making his way as ever and never giving up to 11th place overall at the end of the 18-lap race out of the 15 finishers and five points for the championship.
17th place on the grid for race two, still needed a lot of work by Walker to get in with the big boys, he was 16th after lap one and committed to getting in the points and gaining some Championship points. He soon moved up the order getting into 13th place by the finish.
Race three he started 18th on the grid and once again to get in the points a lot of work was needed. Finishing in 16th place at the end of the 18-lap race.
Walker said: “It’s been a landmark weekend for the Be Wiser Kawasaki team, their first podium and also my 300th race start.
“I can’t thank the team enough for making it feel so special and well done to Danny on his podium finishes. The Be Wiser team has arrived.
“Thank you to everyone for all the messages of congratulations on reaching the BIG 300! Stalker #OldButGold.”
After Oulton Park Walker drops two to 19th position in the Championship with 59 points with team-mate Danny Buchan in 13th position.
Round 10 of the MCE British Superbike Championship takes place on 19th-20th September, where Walker travels to TT Circuit Assen in Holland.
