KEV Brown made the best of a bad situation as he recorded back to back wins in James Maude Linden Angling Club’s match at Portland Waters Old Lake.

With 27 anglers making the best turnout this season for the worst match for a long time, Kev drew peg 12, a corner peg, and, with peg 11 spare, he fished this match like a winter league match, catching mainly on meat and feeding very little to weigh in with 42lb 7oz.

Wayne Jerram, a former member back as a guest, was second. Fishing from peg four he ended up with 22lb 3oz.

Martin Brown was top of the list for the third match in a row at Sherwood Forest Fram Park Fishery.

Drawn at peg 45 on Holmedale, he fished the pole and paste down both margins, landing 32 carp to 7lb for a total of 142lb 3oz.

Tuesday winner on Sherwood Lake was Fred Bispham with 68lb 5oz.

He fished popped-up bread cast to the weed beds at peg 41, landing 20 carp to 7lb.

Wednesday Holmedale winner was Pete Ellis, who fished the pole out at 11m and down the margin with corn, meat and pellet on the hook, landing over 40 carp to 6lb for a level 114lb.

Church Warsop & District AC enjoyed a first class match at Janson’s fishery in the Vale of Belvoir where Dave Wilson won from peg one on the match lake. He attacked the peg with chopped worm and caster close in, catching from the first whistle to the end Dave amassed a winning weight of 228lb 10oz.

P. Martin just missed out on his first ever match win with Woodhouse AC at Aldercar Folly Pond, pipped by J. Potter with 56lb 8oz.
