A full entry of 80 cars is guaranteed for the annual Dukeries Rally, sponsored by Rainworth Skoda, which hits the road this Sunday.
Having been held as a forest stage event in recent years, the rally returns to the single venue of Donington Park for 2015.
But the organisers are confident it will be a big success after attracting cars with real rally heritage, including legendary Ford Escorts, Lancias and Subaru Imprezas, specialist machinery such as Darrians, and modern World Rally Championship vehicles. Notable drivers will include triple-winning veteran Brian Bell.
The event will comprise 55 miles on the race track, with a small amount of off-track mileage too. As an added bonus, the last stage of the day will be held in darkness, which should be an attraction for both the competing crews and spectators alike.
David Baugh, chairman of the Dukeries Motor Club, commented: “We are delighted to see such a big entry. The variety of cars is exceptional, with a quality driver-entry too. It is very apparent that holding the event at Donington is a big draw. It’s going to be a fantastic event for competitors, officials and spectators alike.”
Tickets, priced £10, with free admission for children aged 13 and under, can be bought on arrival at the circuit.
