Ashfield enter the last game of the league season with a home fixture against Worksop safe in the knowledge that promotion is secure having finished second behind Belper.
But Ashfield’s director of rugby, Mark Denman will not allow his squad to rest on their laurels and said: “it is imperative that we finish our league campaign as we started with a win.
“A win would give the squad the confidence to approach the semi-final in a positive manor. We are measured on success, what we achieve in the game as a team and individuals. Second place is a great achievement and having a winning mentality is the key.”
The corresponding game early in September say Ashfield run out with a victory 17-13 that saw prop forward Chris Houseman cap a great individual display with two tries.
The game against Worksop is also the curtain raiser for a cup semi-final against Worksop, with the date to be confirmed.
The league game kicks-off at 3.pm tomorrow.
