Sad Mansfield Hosiery Mills have been relegated from the Notts Premier League after defeat in their penultimate match of the season away to Wollaton.

The 84-run reverse also means they are sure to finish bottom of the table after losing ten of their 21 matches so far.

The Millers asked the hosts to bat first but were soon toiling thanks to an opening stand of 65 between Daniel Andrew and David Barr (35), despite tight bowling by Kyle Garside (2-25 in 12 overs), which was followed by an 88 partnership between Nicky Kirkwood (45) and Tim Young (51).

Andy Kirkwood’s 42 then pushed Wollaton to a total of 228-6 before Hosiery Mills limped to 144 in reply. They were unable to build any momentum as all-rounder Young took 4-23 and James Cox 3-44. Top scorer was Sayeem Waliullah with 26.
