Mansfield Harriers miss out on relay nationals

Mansfield Harriers were represented by two teams in The Midlands 12 and Six-Stage Road Relays on Sunday, held in Sutton Park, Birmingham, on what was a beautiful, warm spring afternoon.

The men’s team were made up of a team of 12, each completing either 2.6 mile or 4.9 mile legs, whilst the women were teams of six.

The men’s team were led by top veteran Mark Johnson, who due to a slight back injury was forced to compete in one of the shorter 2.6 mile legs, when normally Johnson would have underpinned an early advantage for the Harriers, by forging out a high early placing by running a longer leg.
