Taking place at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, 15th to 18th December, the event is the biggest short course Meet on the British domestic swimming calendar.

Taking her rightful place among them is local swimmer and Kirkby College pupil Lily Boseley, who will be looking to add short course titles to her portfolio after securing British age group records in the 100m and 200m Backstroke long course events last year.

The 15-year-old, who trains with The City of Sheffield Swim Squad at Ponds Forge, will look to make the most of her home pool advantage and will contest titles in the 200m Freestyle, 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke and 100m and 200m Individual Medley events.

Boseley’s City of Sheffield team mate and Mansfield’s recently-crowned 2016 Junior Sportsperson of the Year, Elliot Clogg, 16, will miss the National championships as he travels to Ontario in Canada as part of a small, select Team GB and Scottish youth squad of just four boys and 13 girls to contest the third Annual Ontario Junior International.

Giving the Olympic hopeful the opportunity to pitch his talents against some of the top junior competitors from all over the World, Clogg will be hoping to impress selectors ahead of the FINA World Junior Championships being held in Indianapolis, USA next year and will contest the 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke, the 200m Freestyle and the team relay events.
