Harriers among the County Cross Country medals

In typical cross country weather with the recent rainfall, there were lots of puddles and mud to contend with on the course.

Mansfield were well represented in all categories with Mark Johnson finishing as the fastest veteran, covering the 10km course in a time of 36 minutes 27 seconds, resulting in eighth overall in the senior men’s category.

The men’s veteran team managed to finish in second place.

Other notable performances were Andrew Wilson 26th (4th in age 40-49), Jordan Boam 33rd (8th in U20), Gary Morley 58th (29th senior), John Harrison 73rd (7th in 50-59), Jonathan Hardy 83rd (10th in 50-59)and Julian Wood 98th (15th in 50-59).

In the senior women’s race, Amanda Hardy finished a very credible third in age category, placing her 15th overall along with Maddy Collinge in 45th.
In the U17 boys, Alex Rieley finished in third place in 17m 23s with Ben Hardy just behind in fourth place.

Archie Raynor finished first in the U15 boys, 50 seconds clear of second place with Matt Buchan not far behind in seventh.
Matthew Woodhall finished the U11 Boys in a solid 15th place.

In the U20 girls race, Hannah Hardy finished in 12th position in 26m26s, while in the U17 girls, an excellent race for Alice Venkatesan saw her finish third.

In the U15 girls, Bethany Williams finished in third, May Roberts eighth and Jess Tomlinson in 16th position.
