Ex-Norwood Park captains hand over charity cheques

Norwood Park Golf Club past captains for 2013 Sarah Woolley and Mick Heron last week handed over two charity cheques for £3684.00 each from funds raised during their year in office.

They were presented to Karen Carter, community fundraiser for Notts/ Lincs Air Ambulance and Emma Pearson, senior development manager, IMPACT Campaign Nottingham Early Detection, Cancer Research Department.

The Norwood Park Golf Centre has had much to celebrate over recent weeks including national recognition by England Golf, being shorlisted for the 2014 Golfmark Club of the Year

England Golf use Norwood as a ‘Best Practice’ example of clubs who are utilising England Golf/County Golf Partnership initiatives.

Norwood was also awarded Golfmark High Achievers, currently the only club in the county to have this status.

PGA coach Richard Strange has also been nominated by The Golf Foundation Golf Roots for outstanding work, both for junior development and special needs projects.
