Another national award for Norwood Park
The Centre was initially awarded Golfmark by Golf England in 2010, highlighting a strong commitment to junior golf development and adult beginners.
Now, following their recent three year review, they have now also been awarded High Achiever Status, which nationally recognises clubs that have met additional conditions over and above those minimum standards required.

Sports development officer (NGB Projects) and county development officer for Notts Golf Partnership Matthew Bloor said: “It’s great news that Norwood Park Golf Centre have GolfMark High Achiever status. It is a testament to the pro-active and welcoming approach at the centre, providing opportunities for all levels including complete beginners.
“The centre has shown to be one of the more pro-active clubs in Nottinghamshire since achieving GolfMark in 2010.
“The recent success of the club has occurred through a huge amount of hard work, but also because of a rare ability to marry a business-led approach with development at the heart of everything they do, which creates a warm and friendly atmosphere at the club.

“I have worked in Sports Development for nearly 10 years and Norwood Park Golf Centre is ‘far and away’ one of the best clubs I have ever worked with. They put the love of the game at the centre of all they do and in doing so have become a shining light for the region.”
The Golf Foundation awarded them Golf Roots Centre accreditation and Norwood have hosted numerous projects supported by the Junior Golf Passport Scheme.
The centre has been nominated in the Newark & Sherwood Sports Awards Club of the Year for the past three years, and this year they are also in contention for Nottinghamshire County Council Club of the Year.
