Only a month after contesting the International Rally Whangeria in New Zealand, the 28-year-old is off Down Under to link up with rising Aussie star Rhys Pinter in his Ford Fiesta R2.

The pair teamed up for Rally Australia in 2015 and 2016, so Hall has high hopes of helping Pinter’s assault on the FIA Asia Pacific and Australian Rally Championship.

The Mansfield man is widely regarded within the sport as one of the most progressive co-drivers in recent times and has enjoyed a wide range of outings during his career.

He said: “It’s great to be competing alongside Rhys in his home country again. He has been working really hard over the past few months and has secured a new sponsor for the rally, which is fantastic news. I am really excited to be back in the car with him.”

The National Capitol Rally, which takes place this weekend, comprises 230 kilometres of stages, spread across two days on dirt tracks and forests, and Hall is looking forward to getting stuck into the challenge of an event on a different continent.

“After my two attempts at Rally Australia and my time in New Zealand, I feel pretty much at home doing events there now,” he said. “But you can’t be complacent. I’ve been working hard on my preparation and fitness to ensure I’m at the top of my game.

“Rhys and I get on really well so, hopefully, we can get a decent results under our belts. I’m really looking forward to it.”
