White was replaced by teenager Lewis Gibbens in the 1-1 draw t Macclesfield and boss David Flitcroft said: “Hayden had a really mixed week.

“You look for inconsistencies in your training week and his missus had a difficult pregnancy. Hayden was up and down the motorway and in a hospital chair without much sleep.

“These factors have contributed to fatigue and he has tightened his hamstring from his back.

“I don’t want to risk him. If you don’t get them right they can turn into six week injuries. So it was important we made a good decision, especially with Hayden’s form.”

Flitcroft promised to put out a competitive Stags side tonight and hinted Calum Butcher and Will Atkinson were in his thoughts for a start.

Stags had sold over 1,100 tickets for the tie by this morning.
