VIDEO: Drama as Derwent deny Unwin double

There was high drama at Forest Town Welfare where Derwent stopped Unwin Rovers completing a Chad Mansfield Sunday League double.

Unwin had already won Division Four and looked to have added the League Intermediate Cup as they led 1-0 to a very A. Riley early goal against their Fourth Division rivals.

But Andrew Dallison pounced in the final minute to send the game into extra-time in which Ben Johnson grabbed a first half winner.

In the Premier Division, Premier Cup winners from last week New Linden were looking to see off title rivals Rifle Volunteer as they head for a prestigious double.

This they duly did as N. Carter and M. Merriman netted in a 2-1 win which all but sealed the title for them. The win put them on 29 points at the top with two games still to play. Rifle only have one game left, against Teversal this Sunday, and have an inferior goal difference by seven goals.

Bull Farm beat nearest rivals Ashfield Rangers by a single R. Kursis goal on Sunday to secure the Division Two championship.

Fourth-placed Mansfield Police ran amok against bottom side The Bold Forester, showing no mercy with a 13-0 caning, L. Collopy leading the rout with four goals.

Second to bottom Rose & Crown completed their Division One season with only their fourth win of the campaign as a J. Brooks brace helped them towards a 5-0 victory over rock bottom Abbott Road.

Their other goals came from B. Bartram, C. Wint and D. Carrington.

A miserable Division Four season came to an end for Shirebrook Wanderers C as they made it 18 defeats in 18 games with a 4-1 loss away to Fox & Crown.
