Tough cup task for Ashland

The Precision NSL Senior Cup gets underway with Division One side Ashland Rovers travelling to face Wollaton from the level above tomorrow.

They will do so without Mark Summers and Danny Smith (unavailable) and Gareth Pope (suspended). Andy Alls has a full squad at his disposal for Wollaton.

Last season’s beaten finalists, Boots Athletic, host Nottinghamshire.

The Chemists’ boss, Wayne Miles, has goalkeeper Elliott Griffiths back from suspension and Kimany Gregoire and Curtis Campbell are set for debuts. Chris Roome is also available after missing last weekend’s match.

Also in the league cup, Bingham Town, of the Senior Division, are on a five game unbeaten run, but face a potentially tricky tie away at Division One high flyers Newark Flowserve. Town will be without Dom Page who is serving a one match suspension.

Ruddington Village, fresh from victory in the Notts FA Senior Cup, welcome PMG Cavaliers to Elms Park in one of three all-Senior Division ties.

In league action, in Division Two, Ashland Rovers Reserves host top of the table Kimberley Miners Welfare AFC.

Rovers will take confidence into the encounter, having won their last two matches by scores of 6-2 and 8-2.
