Teversal secured crucial sponsorship ahead of this season’s Notts Girls and Ladies League campaign and were keen to showcase what they were all about.

But, after a successful start, they now face the uncertainty of when the season will resume.

“We had a really good pre-season and got a sponsor and it’s halted already so the girls are disappointed,” she said.

“Everything seemed to have fallen perfectly into place, but unfortunately football has been affected.

“We have had regular contact with the players. We have asked how they are feeling, a lot said football helped with their mental health and fitness and they are worried about whether the season will now be completed.”

Since lockdown the squad has come together to have regular chats via social media groups and take on various fitness challenges and quizzes.

And Smith is hoping that that togetherness can benefit the side when football finally resumes.

“The togetherness that we have is good and we are managing, but the girls want to be back out playing football. We are all keeping in touch and sticking together. We hope it will benefit us when we start playing again.”

The postponed lockdown fixtures have now been rearranged as follows: Grantham Town (A) 31/01/2021, Bingham Town Ladies (A) - 07/02/2021, Sherwood FC Women's Development (H) – 14/02/2021, Arnold Town Women Flyers (H) - 21/02/2021, Retford FC Women (A) - 07/03/2021
