Striker Carl Lamb joins Alfreton Town

Alfreton Town have signed experienced striker Carl Lamb on loan from Chesterfield.

The 30-year-old has joined the Conference Premier club until January 5, 2015 after impressing in a trial match.

Lamb scored twice for the Reds last week in a behind closed doors training game against a Mansfield Town X1.

He made his Alfreton debut last night (Tuesday) in the goalless draw with Bristol Rovers at the Impact Arena.

The former Liverpool youngster has played for Bangor City, Witton Albion and spent time in Australia.

During his time down under, he won the Regional Premier League goalscoring award for the 2012/13 season with Cobram.

Lamb returned to England and was signed by League One newcomers Chesterfield on non-contract basis in September.

Though the form of Eoin Doyle saw his chances limited at the Proact Stadium and was told he was free to find first team football elsewhere by the Spireites on October 31.

Lamb will wear number 24 for Alfreton Town and is available to play in the FA Trophy and Derbyshire Senior Cup for Nicky Law’s side.
