There will be respect from both sides as Chesterfield prepare for a tough head to head with Mansfield tomorrow.
Both managers are fully aware how much such a crucial derby means to both sets of supporters but are definitely playing for points.
Spireites manager Paul Cook said: “It is a very special day for the supporters. You must go and play the match. Football is a tough game at times and Mansfield do compete well and put you under pressure.
“Mansfield are a really difficult team to play again.
“We are going over there to win make no bones about that. We are going over there to attack, to play attractive football and to make our supporters happy.”
Dan Gardner is unavailable for Chesterfield as the midfielder is still out with the ankle injury he picked up against Accrington Stanley.
Drew Talbot also remains sidelined as he recovers from the abductor injury that has kept him out of action for a number of weeks.
Mansfield manager Paul Cox said: “It means a lot to both sets of supporters, both sets of players and staff but the main thing this season is to maintain our status in the league.
“They’re a good side, they’ve got a good manager and they’re geared to get promoted. Chesterfield have the ambition to get out of this league whereas ours is to maintain our status.”
