STAGS RETRO: Mansfield Town overcome Lincoln City 4-0 back in 1944

72 years ago today the Stags smashed four goals past Lincoln City without reply.

This was a victory that did not flatter the Stags.

Despite the hosts hitting four goals, Lincoln’s ‘keeper put in a good performance especially considering he was second choice.

However, Mansfield’s quality told in the end although they only had one goal to show for it at half-time.
