STAGS RETRO: Mansfield smash QPR for eight back in 1965

That first half was scintillating and started in great fashion when Harry Middleton opened the scoring after just five minutes, calmly slotting home at the second attempt.
Bill Curry nodded into an empty net to make it 2-0 before further goals arrived before the break from John Gregson and then a fine brace from Middleton which earned him his treble.
Bedford had notched a consolation goal for Rangers but the Stags came out roaring once again in the second half.

Hide AdJust after the hour Curry made it 6-1 before he joined Middleton in grabbing his third of the day.
Right at the death Morris converted a penalty to put the icing on the cake and seal a memorable day for Town.
