South Normanton Athletic had a day to forget as they beaten 3-0 at Ellistown and Ibstock.
The Shiners had the first chance of the game on 20 minutes when Ant Fay scuffed his shot after good work down the lft win by Ash Whitt.
Fay then whistled an effort just over the bar seven minutes later after good work in midfield from Kyle Jackson.
Frazer Kirk then cracked a header against the bar on 29 minutes during an excellent spell of pressure.
They proved costly misses when Ben Harris opened the scoring on 36 minutes after his 40 yard effort beat Shiners’ goalkeeper Steve Smith.
The second half saw plenty of play in midfield except for two efforts from Dan Riley in the first 20 minutes of the half.
But it was Ellistown who scored on 65 minutes from the cruelest of deflection’s from a Tendsi Chitiza effort.
Then on 70 minutes Carl Benson scored straight from a free kick 30 yards out to wrap up the points.
It was a clinical display of finishing and left South Normanton to reflect on what might have been had they been able to take their chances.
Normanton are away at Stapenhill on Saturday (3pm), then on Wednesday 11th March they face a home League Cup tie against high flying Bardon Hill (7.45pm).
