There was only seven minutes on the clock when Eastwood took the lead when a Kieran Knight cross found Gareth Curtis who made no mistake from close range.

Then on 14 minutes Eastwood doubled their lead when Knight crossed the ball into the box and it was headed back across goal for Ross Parker to head in at the back post.Shirebrook didn’t let their heads drop and they soon started to test the Eastwood keeper with Craig Purcell, Joshn Turner and Joe Harris all having chances to pull a goal back.

Eastwood finished the half the stronger of the two teams but didn’t take any of the chances that fell their way and Shirebrook went in at the break with work to do.

Shirebrook knew if they were going to get back into the game they needed the next goal but that went out the window after only four minutes of the half when Eastwood extended their lead further when Joe Harrison’s free-kick found Curtis who headed in for his second of the game.

And in the 64th minute Knight got Eastwood’s fourth goal of the game.

Shirebrook never let there heads drop and kept pushing with Purcell and Harry Allcock both having chances.

Shirebrook did get a consolation goal back through sub Grant Mitchell with his acrobatic bicycle kick finding the back of the net.Town are back in action next Saturday in the FA Vase when Ingles visit Langwith Road, 3pm kick-off.
