Shiners are beaten by Bulwell in top of table clash

South Normanton were beaten 3-2 by Bulwell in a top-of-the-table clash.

The Shiners made a good start and went ahead on 30 minutes when Shane Newton scored following Lee Sutton’s corner.

But the lead lasted just six minutes when Marek Vipond rifled home a fierce effort from 18 yards outit a cracker of a shot from 18 yard to bring the game level.

Bulwell then went ahead when Jay knight headed home at the back post.

Lee Sutton drew South Normanton level from the penalty spot as they started the second half brightly.

With the game in the balance, Bulwell hit the front when Darren Garmeston’s 40 yard free-kick flew threw a crowd of players and into the bottom corner.

It was a disappointing ending for South Normanton who felt they had deserved to win.
