The Villagers had last week’s season opener called off on the morning of the game after a Stourport Swifts player tested positive for COVID-19.

But they will get another bite at the cherry after the game was instead moved to this weekend.

“All the preparation had been done with the ground,” Moore said. “The team had been picked.

“It was the 1th hour when we got notification that a player had tested positive so it all had to go on hold.

“Our players' conduct was excellent, they were willing to get tested straight away and went through all the right processes.

“They isolated until they got the results and they all came back negative.

“It is never too far off when a game might be off out of the blue. Football restarting has clouded peoples’ views a bit, but it is always going to be there.”

Selston should have played Romulus this weekend, but the Stourport game was swiftly rearranged.

And it is a match which Moore says he cannot wait for.

“To have the game on a Saturday makes it a bit more special and more people can come to the game,” he said. “We are hoping for a good turnout and some familiar faces who can enjoy a good game of football.

“The biggest disappointment last week was not being able to play. We saw a lot of positives in our defeat last weekend.

“We saw the attitude of the player realising that we can have a go at teams in this league, we’ve not got the same fear as we had last year.

“We were champing at the bit last Saturday, but we have had to wait. It will be great to get going.”
