“The players realise that we can have a go at teams in this league, we’ve not got the same fear as we had last year,” he said.

“The lads that were there last year have got that determination to put right last year and have a good go at it.

“We have played decent teams in pre-season but nothing prepares you for proper competitive football

“We feel as a team and a club that we are more prepared for having last year’s experience."

And Moore believes having a younger more flexible squad will help boost squad stability.

“Most of the players are from lower leagues and have never played at this level, they are very young,” he said. “A lot are between 18-21 so it's a brand new experience.

“We feel we are more prepared. We have added to the squad depth to take on the travelling and people being at work

“They were problems we had last year and we've tried to get around it by getting players who can commit more and don't do shift work.

“That is where its better having young players, the younger lads are probably looking for a first job, living it at home and can play at the drop of a hat unlike someone who has a family.”
