Khyle Sargent was the man on target after only six minutes, finishing clinically at the near post after a fine ball from Matt Wilkinson had enabled him to get in behind the Holbrook defence.

It kept Teversal three points clear of the four-team chasing pack with nine games to go, beginning with huge trips to two of their main title rivals this week, Selston on Thursday night and second-placed Dunkirk on Saturday.

The hosts enjoyed most of the possession throughout the game, but Holbrook, who sit just below mid-table, always looked dangerous on the break.

For Teversal, a powerful header from Aaron Pride was well saved, while Dave Cockerill volleyed fiercely wide and Sargent drove over from 12 yards.

For the visitors, Niall Mather headed marginally wide, Matt Harris was foiled by a fine stop from Josh Turton and Seb Szondi blazed two good chances over the bar.

TEVERSAL LINE-UP -- Turton/ Lavelle (Sennett 74), Pride, Laister, Taylor, Watson, Griffiths (Smith 65), Cox, Sargent, Cockerill, Wilkinson. Subs not used: Savage, Short D.
