League Two leaders Swindon Town will arrive at the One Call Stadium this weekend, 20 places and 31 points ahead of their hosts.

But the Stags are in confident mood on their own turf, having picked up seven points from their past three home games, beating Newport County and Bradford City while drawing with Carlisle.

"They've got good technical players, play a good brand of football and have players who can put the ball in the back of the net. Good payers all round," Sweeney said of the Robins.

"We've got to believe we can take something from the game.

“If we can get the home crowd behind us and get on the front foot early, I'm sure we'll have good opportunities."

It may not have turned out to be the season Mansfield were hoping for when they kicked off the campaign in August, but Sweeney won't write anything off just yet.

He says the Stags have a chance to prove they are now a better side than their league position suggests."You look forward to Saturday no matter, but when the league leaders come to town I think it always gives an extra incentive,” he added.

"Its an opportunity for us to see where we're at.

"To be fair, the home fans have been really good recently, like Newport when we had our backs to the wall, they dragged us through. It really does help.

"It's no secret we're disappointed to be where we are. It's been a difficult season, again one where we've got to attack the last 11 games."
