Roberts signs for Notts

Manager Shaun Derry has completed his first transfer deadline day signing by agreeing a deal to bring in defender Gareth Roberts.

Roberts has been training with the Magpies squad in recent days and has impressed enough to earn a place in the Notts County squad until the end of the season.

Having made over 500 Football League appearances with the likes of Tranmere

Rovers, Doncaster Rovers, Derby County and Bury, the 35-year-old Welsh international will provide plenty of experience in Notts’ fight to preserve their place in Sky Bet League 1.

Roberts will add depth to the left-back role and will offer competition for Alan Sheehan during a crucial few months for the Magpies.
