Rival Mansfield and Chesterfield managers unite for Jamie Walker charity game

Although they will be rivals next season, Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox and Chesterfield boss Paul Cook will line up alongside each other on the field in a team of Chesterfield and Mansfield Town Legends to take on a collection of TV soap stars in the latest Jamie Walker Charity Match on Sunday (3pm).

The match is taking place at Glapwell FC’s Hall Corner ground with proceeds from the event being equally split between Once Upon a Smile, the King’s Mill Hospital Scanner Appeal (Cancer and Lymphoma Unit) and the CFC Community Trust.

The Mansfield Town and Chesterfield legends and guests team will feature a number of well-known figures from the footballing community.

Players already confirmed are Jamie Ward, Shane Nicholson, Gareth Davies, Bob Newton, Dave Caldwell, Alex Baptiste, Tom Naylor, John Dungworth, Nathan Arnold, and former Everton midfielder Ian Snodin.

The Once Upon a Smile Celebrity FC will be captained by former Emmerdale star Danny Miller and will feature Dancing on Ice contestant, Matt Lapinskas amongst others. For a full list of the celebrity squad, visit www.charityfootball.co.uk.

Via ebay, fans can bid for the fantastic opportunity to play for or manage the Legends side.

There are also mascot places available - youngsters can spend the day as a football mascots, enjoying a day of activities before walking out onto the pitch with the footballers before the game.

Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for children/senior citizens. Family tickets costing £12 admit two adults and two children.

Dronfield-born Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill has donated a signed Premiership shirt for auction while there is also a signed Wayne Rooney England short on auction too. Bidding ends at 3.45pm at the match.
