Rival bosses confident they can break Mansfield hearts on thrilling last day

As Mansfield Town boss David Flitcroft plots how to get three crucial points in Saturday's final League Two game at home to Crawley Town, his rivals at Lincoln City and Coventry City remain confident they can break Stags hearts.

Mansfield trail both rivals by three points going into the weekend, so a minimum of a point apiece for Lincoln (at home to Yeovil) and Coventry (at home to Morecambe) would see Mansfield miss out.

Lincoln could have sealed it last weekend, but lost 1-0 as Accrington Stanley clinched the title.

“We’ve got a really important week. We’ll go into the Yeovil game and do what we always try and do, which is to win the game.

“We’ve had a lot games in a short space of time and we’ll definitely benefit from having a full week.

“We now have the chance to draw breath, dust ourselves down and prepare properly for a massive game.

“We’re used to playing in big games. We’ve had a lot of them over the last two seasons.”

Coventry cruised to a stunning 6-1 success at Cheltenham Town and boss Mark Robins said: “It was a good day day because we wanted the three points, we needed the three points and we leap-frogged Lincoln and we’re happy about that going into the game next week.

“The lads were all looking at their phones and the results coming in but that’s fine. It’s down to us now.

“If we go and get a point or three then we’re fine.

“Morecambe makes it more interesting because they need a point as well, so it will be an interesting game.”
