The afternoon kick-off saw Ripley score once in each half in a game badly hampered by the worsening weather conditions.

It was again a close encounter between these sides with little to separate them until Ripley took the lead at the midway point of the first half.

A Joe Frogson corner was flicked on by Todd Wells and Charlie Willows skilfully angled his shot into the bottom corner.

With few clear chances for either side it was Willows who cleared descisively to maintain the lead until the break.

As the rain and sleet fell heavily and the pitch deteriated in the second half another Sherwood scramble was cleared off the line by Lewis Holmes before an excellent solo run by Cade Croshaw saw him escape the Sherwood defence and make it 2-0.

As the match became scrappy Ripley were limited to long range efforts by Wells and man-of-the-match Morgan Boyle, whilst Tommy Austin had to save well with his feet.

The last few minutes saw Ripley finish strongly with a Croshaw shot and Wells free-kick being saved.
